Dear Friends and Family of Providence Presbyterian Church;

I am writing to inform you of the decision the Board of Session regretfully felt it needed to make at last night’s meeting.  Considering the recent surge in the number of new Covid-19 infections here in Blair County, the Session decided to err on the side of safety and therefore are cancelling all worship services in the church building now through January 3rd.   This includes the two Christmas Eve services.  After a lengthy discussion, it was felt that we would feel terrible if a member or guest came down with the virus as a result of being exposed at a worship service.

We will continue to host the weekly podcast on the church website and by telephone at 1-857-385-7521 (long distance charges apply).  We will also have a special podcast available on Christmas Eve/Christmas day.

Please keep in mind that although we felt the need to cancel the worship service at the church, we did not cancel Christmas.  Whatever the limitations due to the pandemic, they do not in any way prevent us from celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts and in our homes.  May the blessings of Christmas bring you peace and joy this season and may it continue into the new year!

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Dennis
